ABOUT STEPHEN
Stephen is an award winning Sound Designer and FOH Engineer, who has spent two decades working in the live and broadcast music industry. He is an Account Director for Delta Live - a leading audio design and supply company, having previously worked for Sound By Design and as a freelance sound engineer. He has worked with many of the large international orchestras with complex, ambitious amplified projects, and with various artists and institutions utilising immersive audio technology.
Over the last twenty years, career highlights include:
Sound Designer, FOH Engineer and Head of Live Audio for the BBC Proms (2012 - present). This includes working with artists such as Queen, Florence and the Machine, St. Vincent, Sam Smith, Rufus Wainwright, Jamie Cullum, Quincy Jones, Jon Hopkins, Jeff Beck, Nigel Kennedy, Laura Marling, Moses Sumney, Angelique Kidjo, Public Service Broadcasting, Jarvis Cocker, Laura Mvula, Susanne Sundfør, John Grant, Richard Hawley, Sharon Van Etten, the Pet Shop Boys, Pete Tong (Ibiza Classics), Paloma Faith, Jacob Collier and Cynthia Erivo.

Alongside his live music work, Stephen has also become one of the UK’s leading practitioners in L-Acoustics’ Immersive audio technology (L-ISA), designing, deploying and mixing it on live events and fixed installations throughout the country.
Stephen is highly passionate about music; keen to understand intent and the artistry behind any project he works on, so that he may make sure the end result is as any artist or producer envisages. He has also guest lectured at the University of Surrey on the topics of immersive audio for live events and orchestral amplification to final year students in the audio course.
